QVC isn?t usually a place you?d expect to see credible singers trying to flog their new music, nevertheless that?s exactly where we spotted Charlotte Chruch selling copies of her new album earlier this week.
Yes snuck somewhere in between the sale of a limited edition lizard rhinestone broach and a set of exquisite non-stick saucepans, Char appeared on the shopping channel to promote and sell copies of the album ahead of its general release next week.
Grannies and housewives up and down the country were no doubt furiously ringing up the shopping channel to get their hands on Church?s album at the special price of 9.99 (it came with a signed photo you see), but actually Char doesn?t seem too fazed about the commercial success of her new project. During her interview on QVC she said:
'It?s all about musical expression - commercial success and sales are very important and always great but they?re not the be all and end all any more.
'I would rather make really great music that I love that?s really heartfelt and means something to people rather than be on the treadmill of music commercial success.'
Ah, sentiments we suspect you?ll probably be hearing Charlotte spout again on Bid Up TV some time very soon?
