Matt Cardle?s Former Band?s Album Flies Up The Charts After His X Factor Success?

[Images: Mr Paparazzi/Big Pictures Words: Staff Writer]

Matt Cardle is currently favourite to win X Factor, but not so long ago he used to be in a lowly indie band who made music which sounded slightly edgier than James Blunt.

When he was lead singer in the band Seven Summers, he and the rest of the group didn?t really have much success (sad face) but now that he?s a superstar being watched on reality TV week after week, unsurprisingly the band's debut album (which was released in January) has shot right up the charts (happy face).

Apparently their album reached number 26 out of nowhere this week on the Amazon album download chart, and Matt ? who we spotted at the X Factor studios with some of the other contestants earlier ? sounds surprisingly happy about it. He said:

"If they are doing well and benefiting from this then I'm happy for them."

Oh we bet you he is ? solo success is far more fruitful?
